Genetics

I'd like to introduce everyone to Gregor Mendel. He is known as the "Father of Genetics." We will be exploring his various experiments this week. Please read section 10.1 to become familiar with the new vocabulary. It's going to be a great unit. Hope you're ready to learn! :-)

By the way, this British two pound coin was issued to commemorate Watson and Crick's discovery of the structure of DNA. They were both from England.

The maker of this scarf says, "Here is a DNA scarf that I just finished. Yes, sugar-phosphate backbone, hydrogen bonds, and nucleotides with base-pairing are all there!"

Now here is a good extra credit assignment! Crochet or knit your own DNA scarf! Nah! But hey, if you really want to then, GO FOR IT!

DNA Earrings and a scarf would be a glorious outfit.
